About this rodeo
River City Rodeo is Evansville’s two-night NCPRA points rodeo, returning to the Vanderburgh 4-H Center on September 11 and 12. The program mixes bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and mutton busting with food trucks, local vendors, a petting zoo, and face painting. In 2026, the opening night carries a distinct commemorative purpose: organizers are marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with time to remember those lost and recognize veterans and first responders. Proceeds support Oliver’s Heroes, which helps retired service dogs, and Mustangs of Service, which works with veterans through wild mustangs. Gates open at 5 p.m.
