Helldorado Days Rodeo

About this rodeo

Helldorado Days Rodeo is a professional rodeo wrapped in a celebration of Las Vegas’s Western past. Before competition begins at downtown’s CORE Arena, an evening festival adds line dancing, a petting zoo, mechanical bull rides, carnival games, and children’s mutton bustin’. The rodeo traces its roots to a 1936 event honoring Hoover Dam workers, was revived for the city’s 2005 centennial, and moved to the Plaza’s CORE Arena in 2019. That site carries another local connection: it occupies the ground associated with the 1905 land auction that launched downtown Las Vegas. The result is part arena sport, part civic-history festival.
